Updated cooperation rules for aviation emission quotas

Status: Parliament has approved this proposal. (parliament: ‘Adopted in plenary session’)

In plain language

  • Belgium aligns an internal cooperation agreement with updated European climate rules and streamlines procedures for aviation emissions.
  • The change directly affects aircraft operators and the relevant Belgian authorities that supervise emissions.
  • For you as a citizen, this brings no direct daily changes; it primarily adjusts administrative processes around climate targets.
